Dear Parent(s) or Guardian(s):
It gives me great pleasure to have your child for Global History 10R this year. Global History 10R is the second half of a two-year course focusing on the development of the world. I look forward to an enjoyable and successful year, meeting the challenges and fulfilling the great expectations set before us.
I believe that Global History is a tool for teaching life long skills: how to analyze, interpret, and extract information, as well as a means for building upon their organizational and writing skills. These skills will not only benefit students in their academic endeavors, but also prepare them for the adult workplace. In addition, extra help is available if needed. Just ask! Please encourage your child to see me for any additional assistance. I am always happy to help someone who wants or needs help.

Classroom Expectations
All students are expected to follow the classroom expectations listed below:
All students are expected to follow the classroom expectations listed below:
- Arrive to class on time and be seated by the time the bell rings. 3 late arrivals to class without a signed planner, or pass from a teacher will result in a referral to the Assistant Principal.
- Arrive to class with all necessary materials-homework assignments, books, binders, writing utensil. There will be no trips to your locker once class begins, and coming unprepared to class will negatively impact your class participation average.
- Pay attention in class. We will use the entire class period for learning. Socializing with peers, sleeping, reading magazines, completing homework for another class, or other non-class related activities will not be tolerated.
- Use appropriate language and behavior at all times. Verbally or physically harassing a fellow student or the teacher will lead to an immediate removal from class and behavioral referral to the Assistant Principal.
- Raise your hand and be acknowledged before speaking in class.
- Eating in class is not allowed. You may drink bottled water only. All other beverages are forbidden.
- Remain in your assigned seat throughout the duration of the class unless otherwise directed.
- Remain in the classroom the entire class period. Trips to the bathroom are only granted on an emergency basis and a signed planner is required to leave the classroom.
Homework Policy
Homework is to be turned in on the day it is due and at the beginning of class. Only homework that is handed in at the beginning of a student’s class period will be graded. If a student does not have their homework completed they will receive a Zero in my grade book for the assignment.
